Morning Prayer will be conducted in the chancel on specific feast days, as indicated in the daily calendar.

The following outside activities use Church facilities on a regular basis:

Every Thursday: A.A., Swan Hall, 7:00 PM

______

Sunday, September 26 is Stewardship Sunday.  Parishioners will be asked to make a realistic pledge for the coming year.  Only by determining what the Church will be getting can the Vestry establish a budget for the coming year.

This month the Vestry meeting, postponed last month to the fifth Sunday, will return to its usual fourth Sunday.

There will be no altar guild meeting in September.

______

Many people in the congregation were surprised to see most of the choir processing on August 8.  The singers who were in town wanted to get together to sing one last Sunday with Paul Larsen.

When we reconvene on September 12, we will be lamenting the loss of two of our long-time staff singers, Betsy Kardos and Alex Miller.  Alex and Betsy have both had an enormous impact on bringing the St. Luke's Choir to the level where it is today.  My auditions for staff singers are pretty tough, but I expect to have good news when the choir returns.

Actually, my standards for the choir as a whole are more stringent than some:  You must (1)match pitch and (2) play well with others.  (It's NOT about numbers.)  The St. Luke's Choir has a level of joy and goodwill that I have seen in few other places.  We look forward to being back together in a couple of weeks.
